What happened to the Gold Coast Indy ?

Last year after many many years here on the Gold Coast, we bid a sad farewell to the CART/Champ Car/Indy Car series, who have returned to ruling the North American circuits, and left a gaping hole in the hearts of Australian race fans.

This year , the famous 'Indy' weekend has been rebadged the Nitro SuperGP, and will feature our headline favourites, the V8 Supercars, and the Ferrari powered A1 GP series.
A1 GP is a fast and furious international series, with drivers from a diverse range of countries, includes some familiar faces in the past and present such as Englishman Dan Clarke, Alain Prosts' son Nicolas, and previously our very Indycar champs Will Power and Ryan Briscoe, Scott Dixon, Canadian Patrick Carpentier and V8's Will Davison & Marcus Marshall.

Also recently confirmed are the small but speedy Aussie Race Cars and Formula Ford (aka F1 apprentices).

The 22 to 25 October event still comprises the tight twists and turns of previous years, making it a popular circuit amongst the drivers.
